![]() Here's a classic low country porch scene. These rockers, which are known as the "Tyndall Creek Rockers" are pretty comfortable, because they're large, wide, tall, and have a contoured back. The arms are well placed and there is a smooth slat across the front of the seat to protect your legs from feeling the ends of the seat slats. The seats don't have as much contour as I'd like, the rocker would be a bit more comfortable if the back post was cut at an angle instead of the straight post you see here (when I say that, I mean a back post that comes straight up out of the runner, and then angles back once it gets to seat level). Of course, the post is set at an angle, as it is in almost all rockers (they wouldn't hardly pitch back at all otherwise), but I've come to know that there is an immense difference in comfort when the back post is cut at an angle. This rocker also has nice thick structural elements, and it has a very substantial and handsome look. All in all, this is not the best rocker I've ever sat in, but it's a very high quality rocking chair.
